The Vanguard excels at getting to the enemy backline and taking Archers and other players by surprise, and the slashing damage of a greatsword dispatches these unarmored foes faster than any other. The greatsword, including the Zweihander and the normal greatsword, are considered by most to be the best weapons for the Vanguard class. Knowing the best Vanguard weapons in Chivalry 2 is a good first step in learning this multifaceted class. They jump in and out of combat, never staying too long, and can tear through the enemy backline before they have a chance to realize what's going on. Though it isn't quite as good at any of these things as the other classes, Vanguards are still pretty good for most aspects of the game, and are the most versatile because of it.

It has the heavy-hitting weapons of the Knight, the speed of the Footman, and the access to ranged weaponry of the Archer. Updated Jby Erik Petrovich : The Vanguard class is something of a hybrid class in Chivalry 2 with a lot of playstyles available through its three subclasses. This strike deals more damage and has a good chance, on a good hit, to instantly kill most enemies. It's a great Chivalry 2 class for taking advantage of open enemies thanks to the Vanguard's ability to charge forwards with a leaping strike. RELATED: The Hardest Online Multiplayer Games, Ranked The Vanguard is a Chivalry 2 class that is more than willing to rush into the fray of battle, get a few mighty swings in, then duck out before the enemy has time to think. Thus, the charge-combo was born :P I'll 1v1 you if you want, btw.The Vanguard class in Chivalry 2 is a perfect blend of the speed of the Footman and the strength of the Knight. So I tried it again, less spammy this time. I've lvl 33, btw, with ALL weapons unlocked, so don't try and call me a n00b for using VG at lvl 33) and starting hitting those attack buttons post-charge and noticed that there was a nice combo-like swing with the correct timing. I found this out while dueling, so I used my favorite class (VG. The second attack can be performed (or is it "preformed"?) with any VG weapon, it doesn't have to be just a Claymore or Fork. You hit someone, and use another swing (usually Stab) at the right time to do a sort of "combo" with the charge, the extra attack usually finishing them off. Otherwise, block dat s***! Also, to aspiring Vanguards out there, I've discovered a combo-like mechanic with the charge post-patch. Though, my point is, don't fear the charge if you're a Knight. I once one-shotted a Knight by Polehammering his face. Btw, charges NEVER one-shot a Knight, though, that may not be ENTIRELY true. If you're a Knight, only 35% loss on your end, about 45-50% if Vanguard, and about 60%+ if you're a lame little MAA or Archer. Vanguard charges drain about 65% of THEIR stamina. of course, they can also turn while charging, and can hit people to their back as well. what happens then? you've lost a hell of a lot of stamina, get knocked back a great deal, and you're stunned.įor ultra extra fun: recieve two Vanguard Charges at once.Īlso, what if you get charged when you're in the middle of an attack? oh that's right, you die.īut yes, running towards their direction and having them charge your wake is fun, especially making a stab your left while they pass you by.
